Therapy With Me
I help clients reconnect with themselves through awareness, compassion, and embodied healing. Grounded in somatic awareness and nervous system regulation, my approach integrates mindfulness, body-based practices, and psychoeducation to reduce stress, build insight, and support healthier relationships.
I use somatic therapy to help clients understand how their nervous system responds to stress. In our work together, we'll explore how past experiences shaped current patterns of regulation. In this way and using body-based practices and somatic awareness, clients learn to reduce anxiety, build resilience, and respond to stress with greater ease and choice.
What does Somatic-Focused Therapy Look Like?
Body-based - This style of therapy focuses on prioritizing the body and re-affirming our connection to it. So often, we live in our mind and approach our own mental health healing from the lens of changing thoughts, beliefs, and internal stories. In somatic work, we dive deeper into the body, where much of our emotional sensations reside - in the goal of learning how to use the wisdom of the body to process emotions and our experiences. Somatic work doesn’t disregard the power of our thoughts; but it does reconnect our thinking with our innate, somatic feeling, for a more holistic approach to health and wellness.
Mindfulness-Based - Our sessions will entail various mindfulness practices to help practice presence and self-trust. These practices may include meditation, journaling, or appropriate breathwork to help further facilitate how it feels to occupy the body in a present, self-compassionate way.
Capacity-Based - Likewise, somatic work also focuses on amplifying our ability to hold space for many emotions and sensations, seemingly opposite and at the same time. This may include learning how the body can safely hold sensations of anger and joy; happiness and grief; peace and frustration - with the goal of reducing our reactive tendencies and increasing our ability to sit with difficulty.
“If you’re feeling overwhelmed, disconnected, or simply ready to live with more intention and ease, I’d be honored to support you on that journey. Together, we’ll create space to slow down, tune in, and rediscover what balance and authenticity mean for you. Reaching out for therapy is a brave first step toward change. Let’s begin that journey together.”
